This lesson demonstrates how to change an object’s colour by employing the Colourise command and Alpha Channels. To work along, right-click the red rose above, and save it to your PC, then open it onto Paint Shop Pro’s workspace.
Note I have marked this tutorial Beginners +, however, due to the technique involved, I would say, realistically, it is between Beginners + and Intermediate, depending on your confidence and experience.

Alpha Channels Think of an Alpha Channel as a place where you can store, and retrieve, selection marquees. Once a selection marquee has been saved to an Alpha Channel, then saved as a .psp file, it is permanently embedded into the image. This means, you can retrieve the selection from its Alpha Channel after the file has been closed, then reopened. This is helpful when sending embedded Alpha Channels to other Paint Shop Pro users - or saving them for yourself, to use at a later date. If, after you have opened your file, you cannot see your selection, from the top menu, choose Selections then choose Load/Save Selection - (from Alpha Channel).
