The File Locations dialogue box enables quick access to all files used within Paint Shop Pro, and is utilised to “point” files in the right direction - thereby enabling users to apply new Plugins and Picture Tubes, etcetera.
Although when first installed, Paint Shop Pro’s file paths are pre-optimised, (or should be), further additions may require guidance - this tutorial demonstrates how this is done.
1/ Paint Shop Pro 7 8 9 X XI X2 Photo + From the top menu, choose File then choose Preferences then choose File Locations.
And the following File Locations dialogue box will appear.

To locate your Plugins folder, scroll the menu - above, and locate and double-left-click Local Disc C’s yellow folder.
Now, scroll the menu, locate, and double-left-click the Program Files folder.
Then scroll locate and double-left-click the Jasc Software Inc’s folder.
Paint Shop Pro X XI X2 +; you are looking for Corel’s folder.
Now, scroll the menu, locate and double-left-click your version of Paint Shop Pro’s folder.
Then scroll, locate and highlight, Plugins. (do not click this time).
And finally, click OK.
4/ To finish, (Paint Shop Pro 7, 8, 9, X, X2 +), from the File Locations dialogue box, click OK.
Carry out the same manoeuvres for all new files (mainly Plugins and Picture Tubes), and once you have exited and reopened Paint Shop Pro, they should be recognised.
